ShakeMorseLamp Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-08
ShakeMorseLamp is an Android application that controls the device flashlight, sends messages as Morse code through the torch, and can switch the light on when the phone is shaken. This privacy policy explains what the app does and does not do with information.
This policy applies to ShakeMorseLamp on Android and the support channel operated by HandySparkSoft (D. A.).
Summary
- ShakeMorseLamp collects no personal data.
- There is no account, no sign-in, and nothing to register.
- The app has no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising.
- The app does not request the Android
INTERNETpermission, so it cannot send anything anywhere. - Your settings and message history stay on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app.
Information ShakeMorseLamp Processes
Information You Provide
None is transmitted or collected. Content you type in the app — the message to broadcast, your emergency message, and a local history of recent messages — is written only to your own device's app storage so it is still there next time you open the app.
Information Processed Automatically
None. ShakeMorseLamp contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracking of any kind. It builds no advertising identifier or device fingerprint, and no usage events are recorded.
Stored On Your Device
The app stores the following locally, and only locally:
- your emergency Morse message
- recent messages you have broadcast
- shake detection preference, sensitivity, and mode
- flashlight brightness, transmission speed, and loop pause
- haptic feedback, theme, and language preferences
This data never leaves the device. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. You can also clear it at any time from Android's app settings, using "Clear storage".
Device Features Used
ShakeMorseLamp uses:
- the camera flash unit, to switch the torch on and off and to blink Morse code
- the accelerometer, to detect a shake gesture, when you enable that feature
- vibration, for optional haptic feedback
- notifications, to show an ongoing status while a timer, shake detection, or a transmission is running in the background
The app does not request location, contacts, storage, microphone, or camera-capture permissions, and — importantly — it does not request INTERNET. Without that permission Android will not let the app open a network connection at all.
Its complete permission list is:
FOREGROUND_SERVICEandFOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE— to keep the torch, a running timer, or a transmission alive while the screen is offPOST_NOTIFICATIONS— to show the ongoing status notification for thoseWAKE_LOCK,ACCESS_NETWORK_STATEandRECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED— declared automatically by the Android WorkManager library, which the home screen widget component depends on to refresh the widget
To be transparent about the last group: the app's own code never uses those permissions, and they are not requested by anything ShakeMorseLamp does directly. ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE only permits reading whether a network connection exists; it grants no access to that network. Since the app does not hold INTERNET, it cannot reach the network regardless. You can verify the full list on the app's Google Play listing under "App permissions".
How Information Is Used
Locally stored settings are used only to make the app behave the way you configured it. Nothing is profiled, analysed, sold, or shared.
Third-Party Services
ShakeMorseLamp integrates no third-party services, SDKs, or analytics providers.
The app can open two kinds of external link at your request: the Google Play listing, when you choose to rate or share the app, and this website, when you open the privacy policy or terms. Opening a link hands it to your browser or to the Play Store app, which then applies its own privacy policy. ShakeMorseLamp itself makes no network connection.
Data Sharing
No data is shared, because none is collected.
Data Retention
Settings and history remain on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. There is no server-side copy.
Security
App data is held in your device's private app storage, which Android isolates from other apps. Because nothing is transmitted, there is no transmission to intercept.
Children
ShakeMorseLamp is suitable for general audiences and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your Rights
Privacy rights such as access, correction, portability, and erasure apply to personal data held by an operator. ShakeMorseLamp holds none, so there is nothing to request. Data on your device is fully under your control and can be deleted from Android's app settings.
Changes To This Policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy will be updated here with a new "Last updated" date before that change ships. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
